Here's a thing.. I was listening to the radio in the car coming in to work and they were playing 'Werewolves of London' by Warren Zevon. There's a few in there, but the line "He's the hairy handed gent.. who run amok in Kent" always makes me larf.
Which single lines in songs hit a chord with you?
Like, fr'instance.. "She had the face of an angel... Smiling with sin.. The body of Venus with arms".. sheer genius IMHO haha

'Am I the chain that keeps you from falling, am I the thoughts going round in your head?'
Mind you Bon was the 'Daddy' for lyrics imho , so most of his work could be in this thread....

Ah... get me started guys... So many brilliant Lyrics out there..
BUT.. The 3 Grand masters of lyrical genius are without a doubt..
Bon..... "Alright officer I confess, everything is coming back. I didn't mean to hurt that woman of mine.. It was a heart attack."
Steve Tyler ....." We're all here cos were not all there...tonight..."
Ian Gillan ....."Sweeeeet Lucy was a dancer, but none of us would chance her, because she was a samurai..She made electric shadows, beyond our fingertips..But none of us could reach that high."

I'm so glad this thread has come up coz there is a set of lyrics that always gets me everytime I hear it.
It's Jailbreak by Thin Lizzy, where the opening line and the chorous say "Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak, somewhere in this town"
....somewhere in this town??? Well it is obviously going to be at the jail isn't it!! It isn't going to be at Tesco's or the Library...it's gonna be at the Jail!!

Check it out

Here's a line that is seasonal that hits the spot and I have to keep rewinding and hearing again.
Run Run Rudolph by Chuck Berry/Dave Edmunds/Bryan Adams/Lynyrd Skynyrd
"Said Santa to a boychild, what have you been longing for? ....All I want for Christmas is a Rock N Roll electric guitar"
