I guess you all know TinK from his work with the band. I want to let you know that he's also been the cornerstone of all our internet activities for these last 12 years. TinK was an absolute gem of a guy; super professional and awesomely smart. Nothing was ever too much trouble; everything had a solution, normally instant! And that sense of humour - I'll miss that the most. I still laugh out loud when I see yet another hilarious and drily reproachful message popping up whenever I manage some new variation of operator error on the programs he wrote for us! All of us are struggling to understand how such a vital and thoroughly decent person can be taken from us so early. Incomprehensible. You'll be sorely missed TinK. We very much salute you.
Our hearts go out to TinK and Jane's families and friends.

I would just like to add my condolances to both families. I had tears welling up in my eyes as I read the sad news, it's so awful to lose such a wonderful couple who brought so much pleasure to so many people.
I only got to know Tink and Jane properly last year when I pitched my tent next to them at Driffield Tribfest. I was privaliged to share their company from time to time over the weekend. I particularly remember sitting around a campfire with them late one night. I couldn't believe how friendly they were, and how easy it was to chat to them, they were such a "down to earth" couple. Since then, they always had a friendly smile and chat with me when I've seen them at the gigs around the country. The last time I saw them in Bath, Jane exchanged friendly banter with me as she tried to sell me yet another T-shirt. Then a couple of songs into the set, Tink spotted me (with my Horned cap) in the crowd, pointed at me, and gave me that huge smile that he always carried around with him.

Message from Martha:
Just hearing about Tink made my heart sink. I had no idea what was beneath the surface when he smiled that smile... never did I see him angry, upset, sad or any of those wasted emotions we get away with every day. Just that smile. He and Jane were so friendly, fun and life-loving people, who will never be forgotten.
I've been playing my tribute to them both... written by one of my favourite musicians who suffered a tragic loss of a family member, a beautiful song that always gives me strength. I believe you were listening.. from the gentlest breeze to the most powerful of storms, you are all around us.. you are free
All my love to the families of Tink and Jane for their tragic loss.
Tink and Jane.. let your love of life inspire we who are lucky to be alive X

I'm not sure if anyone will get what I mean when I say I didn't know Tink or Jane but feel like I did from watching the band several times. Reading the official statement left me feeling absolutely gutted for them and all their close friends and family.
My memories are of Tink standing in front of those huge amps and just really looking like he was loving it. I also remember speaking to him about his guitar tuning for Long Way to the Top at Leeds Irish Centre and his bemused look, probably because I was three sheets to the wind and on a high from watching Live/Wire, the effect these guys always seem to have on me!
Hopefully, Tink and Jane are up there right now with Bon rocking hard!

The first time I saw Tink play was at Birdwell. After the gig I was at the bar and he was behind me. I told him that he was "shit hot!" as Mal and bought him a Newcastle Brown. At this point the grin got even bigger!!
Rock in Peace you two

He drank Newcastle Brown a lot when he 1st joined the band.. Then it stopped suddenly and He would ask for JD.. I hadn't really thought about it til now.

Tink and Jane, it was a priviledge to have known you both and tragic to lose you in such circumstances.
If there is a god, that being the case, he is now in the possession of two of the nicest people you could have the pleasure of knowing.

I have only just found out the sad news about Tink and Jane and wanted to say a few words. I met Tink in St.Ives in Cornwall last year after contacting the band for a chance to photograph and review them and supply them with photos and had a freindly reply to pick a covering letter at the gig for my camera and go for it. I had a chat with him after the show and as nice a guy as I ever met. He then offered me the chance to photograpth them in Banbury this year hopefully using the photos for a live cd and gave me a pass for both shows.Again I had the pleasure of meeting up with Tink and also had a chat with Jane at the merchandise desk who made me feel very welcome. We did talk about continuing this at the gig in Leamington Spa my hometown in November but not sure this will be the same now without Tinks smiling face by the back-line. If the band would like me there I am sure they know where to reach me and I hope as a tribute to Tink some of the photos from Banbury are used in some way. So sad its hard to write this my love goes out to all the family and fans at this so sad time. Andrew Lock Leamington Spa

I was best friends with Andy at school. Would just like to share a few stories with you all. We went to our very first gig together aged 15. It was to see Accept in Bristol, both being from small villages getting the train into Bristol felt like we were on a major outing! I will always remember a non - school uniform day, the most outrageously anyone dressed was trying to look like simon le bon. But in walks Tinks, full Angus gear complete with cardboard SG! His finest hour before his Live/Wire days probably came when he was playing in a 'pub rock band', must have been over 20 yrs ago. that night he played our local haunt, the metalers bar PeeWees in Trowbridge. Always had the school uniform on every gig, even though they played a mix of DC scorpions mettalica etc. He had just bought his 1st radio pack. The pub was rammed and during Let there be rock, some guy gets Tinks up on his shoulders and is out through the front door and into the middle of Trowbridge Centre, with 200+ metallers following behind cheering with beers in hand he fired off a brilliant angus solo! Top stuff Had great times with the guy and was lucky i caught up with him for a cha,t for the first time in years, after your recent glous guildhall gig. God rest you Buddy.
