Hi, was just wondering what your most memorable gig was and why? Mine was U2 1993 Zoo TV Tour , Wembley Stadium - Salman Rushdi was brought on stage, though still in hiding after bringing out his infamous "Satanic Verses" WOW Having been to all U2 tours since 1987 this was the most memorable, although Pop Mart Tour Tour 1997 was pretty good with the guys coming out of a giant LEMON and huge c o c k tail sticks pointing into the air about 8ft tall pretty spectacular!! They certainly know how to put on a good live show without a doubt

Ah.. this is easy. Although there are more than one for me and I dont like to have to choose a fav, although it would probably be- Bruce Springsteen Birmingham NEC.- I wasnt a huge fan of Bruce, but a girl I was dating at the timewas obsessed about him. So for her birthday I saved my pennies and bought her tickets plus coach trip to Birmingham. I payed thru the nose from a classified in melody maker (I was 16 at the time) you knoow how that goes. anyway she was already well bored with me after about a month and had already moved onto her next victim. She dumped me just before her birthday :'(and didnt find out til after from a friend that I had these tickets. Apparently she said something like "I wish I had known, wonder if he'll still let me have them "... "bollocks" I thought and decided to go. Asked my mate at college if he wanted to come along with the other ticket and he said"cant stand Bruce F*****g Springsteen, yeah OK". It ended up being an awesome show. converted us I think. He played for the usual 3hours and it was EStreet band with all the trimmings.Max, Steve Van Zant ,and the Big guy on sax with the whole hat swapping routine. They had everybody in the place dancing on their seats. Best atmosphere ever at a gig I've ever experienced which makes it top of my list. I think it helped that everybody on the bus got plastered on the way up there. I made sure everybody at college knew what a great time we had, so the news got back to the appropriate ears. Never forget it. ! ;D
Theres other gigs tho let me think........

i'm so jelous BabyLou! Im a bit too young to have been to more than 1 U2 gig! I got into u2 just after they finished the Elevation tour in 2000 and i was so angry to find out that they had just finished touring and we're like AC/DC becuase they only tour every 5 years or so! So i counted the years until they released H.T.D.A.A.B and then announce the world tour. I really didnt think i would get tickets as they just sellout in minutes! but thanks to my mum and my best mate on 2 phones each and on the net we got 3 tickets! So off we went to Tickenham stadium in June of last year. This was my first BIG gig so i had my expectations. I walked under the stadium and out on to the pitch and as stupid as it may sound i cried! (stupid tart!) but i was just so overwhelmed and just could not believe that i was actually there and in a few hours i would be standing 3 foot away from 5 guys i have looked up to for such a long time. The show was really mind blowing and totally topped my expectations. I will never forget it! It was well worth getting up at 6am and not sitting down till 3am the next morning! Although i nearly missed the gig coz it was about 40 degrees that day. I ended up with security all around me hold huge block of ice on my kneck trying to get rid of the sun stroke!
I hope they come back to england soon becuase i will certainly be doing as many as my wallet will let me!!

My most memorable is Reading 86 or 87 can't really remember which year, but i was watching Alice Cooper and The Stranglers, Quo e.t.c. whilst completely shedded dancing on the roof of a VW camper with the biggest ganja pipe I have ever seen. Bargain.

Old enough thanks. 15 I was. My mum forbid me to go but I went anyway cos all my friends were going and I couldnt be the wuss who didnt go cos his mum wouldn't let him. Wouldn't have been able to show my face in school again. It had to be done but she wasn't amused. Also saw AC/DC with Bon December79. Bon was in great form that night. Bunch of spotty kids my age opened up for them. They called themselves DefLeppard. and they were very average.

It wasn't the first time I'd seen DC......but the Wembley show on the Ballbreaker tour. Just because Phil Rudd was BACK. I remember seeing him & thinking........that's better!! Apart from DC - Twisted Sister at the Marquee will stay with me for a long, long time!! SMF's everywhere!! Performance wise on a technical level - Queensryche performing Operation Mindcrime at Hammersmith was incredible. Looking into my crystal ball - the first show I perform without my Robocop foot will be INCREDIBLE!!

I woulda set yes but I saw them in Nashville about five years ago and they were great. Much better than I expected. the backing vocals were the best Ive ever heard at a live gig.
I got lucky seeing Bon as he only lived a couple of monthys after that.

Another memorable one was when i went to see a band that Quo's bass fronts and also Quo's current drummer was behind the kit.
I was lucky enough to go in and watch them do their sound check. John (bass player) said hello to me and i met most of Quo's management and merchandise team etc, they are all really nice people. I met Matt Letley (drummer) before the gig and had a nice chat with him. Then went back out side as the band were leaving to find the nearest pub. I got pictures with them all which i will treasure for the rest of my life. After the gig. I went and told Matt what i thought of him (fu**ing awsome!), he then asked me if i wanted a pair of sticks! I was dead happy they are really kool sticks too, got Status Quo printed on them and also his signature. Ive got a few more from him as well from other gigs. The thing i love about him is that he always says hello to me when he gets off the tour bus. Theres no big i am with him. He just does his job and really apreciates his fans!
Ill never forget Quo at Brentwood last october. After they open the show, Francis always says hello to everyone. I decided to say hi back when the whole room was quite.... He heard me (lol) and said "was that you?" i sed "YEP" and he asked me to do it again. So i did and the place cheered for me haha! the guy infront kissed me! (shame is was but ugly though)!
Memories are great arent they!

Oh yeah.. Nazereth at a place called the Library in Bismark ND. We (Sin/City) opened for them and shared a dressing room (which was really a beer cellar). I asked for a piccy and they said "of course" Fantastic. I still have it. Me in a pic with Dan, one of my fav rock singers of all time. AWESOME.! and the gig was fantastic. A bottle of vodka and several BnH ciggies and he sounded great!? They did all the hits.. never forget it.

Nazareth, hmm, if I remember rightly they have been touring earlier this year haven't they, I seem to think one of the guys from our place went to see em and I seem to think they appeared at Cleethorpes of all places, not Bootleggers Jon Not really heard much of their music but I do like RAZAMANAZ song that is;D
