I’ve seen the band a few times now and every time I’m blown away by the show, but apart from what I can glean about the band from the forum I really don’t know that much about the band, so I thought could you answer the following questions? (A bit smash hits I know, but never mind….), oh yeah, BTW maybe other forum users could answer the questions as well…
How did you get together to form an AC/DC tribute band?
How did you end up playing the instruments that you do?
How long have you been playing them/singing?
What top tips do you have for anyone wishing to learn your instrument/do what you do?
What’s it about AC/DC that you like most/inspired you?
Do you have a day job, and if you do what is it?
What would be your ultimate band achievement?
What’s your favourite AC/DC track?
What’s your best band experience?
As for me:
How did you get together to form an AC/DC tribute band?
Not applicable – I heard about Live/Wire from an internet search – first gig was at The Point in Cardiff and I was blown away and hooked.
How did you end up playing the instruments that you do?
I’m learning bass guitar – I’ve always liked music and a friend advised me that with my podgy fingers that Bass would be best for me – mind you, I’ve always fancied drums.
How long have you been playing them/singing?
2 years now and I’m still crap. I have a lesson with an uber talented 18 year old – there are occasions when I want to stamp on his fingers to slow him down!
What top tips do you have for anyone wishing to learn your instrument/do what you do?
I enjoy playing along to AC/DC tracks using a thing called a bass trainer – it’s sort of like an MP3 player that you can slow down/isolate the bass. At the gigs I try and get as close to Shakey as possible to see what he's doing - he probably thinks I'm a wierdo stalker.
What’s it about AC/DC that you like most/inspired you?
It’s just pure, no frills rock and they don’t preach to you about global warming/politics like many other bands think that it’s their preserve to do so.
Do you have a day job, and if you do what is it?
I work as an emergency planner having spent most of my adult life in the military. The job’s really interesting and I work with good people.
What would be your ultimate band achievement?
Finding AC/DC in my local needing a stand in bass guitarist…
What’s your favourite AC/DC track?
Gone Shootin’ – can’t put my finger on why, but I think that it’s just brill.
What’s your best band experience?
So far – seeing you at Ebbw Vale, taking along my neighbour and mate and seeing them just as blown away as I was the first time I saw you.
Over to you!
