Why can't they play anywhere in East Anglia?? No, yet again we're too near to London.......I don't want to go to London!! Try living in West Cornwall, every gig travelled to is more of a vacation! ;D

Why can't they play anywhere in East Anglia?? No, yet again we're too near to London.......I don't want to go to London!! Try living in West Cornwall, every gig travelled to is more of a vacation! ;D I have been thinking about this for a while - areas and venues, that is. I used to think I had it rubbish living where I live, but its not really that bad, compared with, say, Cornwall. The nearest main city to me is Portsmouth which is barely 30 minutes away by car, plus theres Southampton (although I'm not a big fan of the Soton Guildhall) a bit further along and in the other direction, there's Brighton. Then there's London which on a good day, I can get to in less than two hours. I'm off to Wembley on Saturday for Green Day - if there are no problems on the roads (or mainly M25), I can get to Wembley in 1hr 45 mins by car, have done it before. Then there's even closer to home - my home town! Last night, somebody uploaded a load of old pics on Facebook, of an old gig which brought back some memories. Bognor Regis has a theatre which was previously part of an entertainments complex. Next to the theatre was a hall which was often used as a music venue. In my youth/late teens, in this hall I saw rock acts such as Little Angels, Girlschool, Gillan, Dumpys Rusty Nuts and the like, as well as other smaller acts like Xentrix, Last Of The Teenage Idols, Silverhearts etc. In the mid-90s, this hall was sold off and was converted into a family pub, complete with indoor adventure playground and all that. As you could probably imagine, this angered a lot of people in the area and to myself and many others, this music facility is much missed and is something we will never get back. Back to the theatre, inside its a bit like the Redhill Harlequin. I don't suppose there's any chance of L/W dropping by one day, is there? ;D

I know I've gone rather off topic but I live near Colchester and there are a few good theaters in the area including some in Ipswich but there doesn't seem to be places like The Diamond, Limehouse Club and the like, which I would love to pop along to. I can't drive so I have to depend on my ever loving Hubby to take me and Rock music really isn't his cup of tea, the last time I went to a gig he sat in the car and waited for me!.......that's what you call True Love. Maybe I should have learned to drive!!

so on for airbourne on this tour Statto?? I'm looking into it. Daughter wants me to take her to see 30 Seconds To Mars at Brighton in November. I'm very tempted by the Ozzfest (London 02) too, so will see how the money goes.

Colchester Atrs Centre still doesn't have a lot of bands, it's a mixture of comedy etc. I would really love a good Rock venue. As for my taxi service.....he had a picnic and a flask with him!! What more could you want?!!!!

We've had some good venues close on us down here in Cornwall too over the years, places where good bands always played but now like Tuddz says..we dont care where we travel over the Uk,,just hop on the train, book early to save money, have a yap and a few beers, time flys if you forget the travelling and just have a laugh on the way
Lookin forward to Airbourne in December, Brummy land it is...look forward to meetin anyone from the forum who wants to meet up with the Cornish Krazies when we're up there, we're always game for a laugh ;D

This brings back some memories. I can see me and Bennetts jumping up and down (0.33) and also, Bennetts can be clearly seen (4.02) with RUNNING WILD on his back.
Was such a good night with you guys - I'm tempted to come and join you in Brum
